Restor-A-Book is a professional bindery, with over 35 years experience, that meets all LBI (Library Bindery Institute) requirements in binding skills. Restor-A-Book also meet archival requirements, using acid free paper or cloth, glue and bindery boards.
Restor-A-Book has been a member of the Arkansas Antiquarian Booksellers Association since 2004.
Kathy Jackson, and son James Jackson, operate Restor-A-Book. The Jackson's (Kathy and her husband) previously owned Little Rock Library Bindery in the 70's. The business was purchased by the American Companies Bindery in Topeka, KS and they worked there for 18 years.
In 1994 Restor-A-Book was chartered in Topeka, Kansas. The business moved to Louisiana in 1998 and has resided in Oil City, LA ever since.
James Jackson is a restoration artist who trained under his Dad, as well as the Wichita State University Frank Barton School of Business. His specialty is restoring old books and creating reproductions.
